Dr. Rzeznik’s “Beyond the Bible Wars:  Catholicism’s Encounter with Religious Diversity” will show how Catholicism in Philadelphia has been shaped by its encounter with religious diversity from the start.  His look at this interreligious encounter beyond the Bible Wars and the Nativist riots will shed light on the growth and development of the Philadelphia area Catholic community.

Professor Rzeznik is a summa cum laude graduate of Fordham University, and holds a doctoral degree from the University of Notre Dame, where he won the Highbarger Memorial Dissertation Prize.  He grew up in Conshohocken, PA in St. Mary parish.  He is a graduate of Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic High School.
